Internet TV — Ways to Watch TV online
Moving to Dublin made me lose lots of major free-to-air TV stations because of the signals blocked by the mountains of the valley. My TV antenna only gets me Channel 36, Channel 54 and a couple of Spanish channels.
I really do want to put in some money for the dish TV or Comcast or AT&T subscriptions that I do not have much time to enjoy. I just need some local and international TV news and that’s all. So I turn to Internet TV.
As many of my friends know, I helped the first Chinese Online in Silicon Valley DingDing.TV to build the web site. I really hope that in Dublin or Tri Valley, we can have some community channels online like this one
http://midpenmedia.org/watch/stream/ which enables to watch 5 channels of local community channels online (Channel 26 to 30 from Palo Alto MC Media Center).
To watch CCTV Chinese programs online, we can always go to http://www.cntv.cn which requires you use Internet Explorer and install the require some plug-ins, but the result is pretty good with some clear pictures.
Another way to watch TV stations around the world online is to install the toolbars such as http://livetv4pc.tv/.
